I had no idea there were so many uses for old trees — especially as markers on frozen lakes and ponds. My tree is already down and on the curb to be picked up by my town for mulching.

When we lived near the beach, the town collected the trees to use as erosion barriers on the dunes. They would really take a pounding from wind during the winter storms.
